Jay Chinnadorai
Jay Chinnadorai is Founder and Managing Director of Sumtotal, a strategic
consultancy specializing in the converging sectors of Device, Media and
Networks. Prior to founding Sumtotal, Jay was Vice President of Sony Europe,
responsible for Networks, Applications and Services. He held various senior
positions where he was responsible for developing several start-up businesses
including the establishment of a successful Mobile Service business in the UK
as a licensed Service Provider for Vodafone and O2. Prior to Sony, Jay ran his
own consultancy business advising various blue chip companies, including the
BBC and Thames TV with their launch of the UK Gold channel. Jay began his
career with Thomson Consumer Electronics where he served as Marketing Director
of the UK Operations. Jay is an alumnus of Manchester Business School (MBA) and
has a BSc in Electronic Engineering from University College London.
Andrew Duncan
Andrew Duncan has been working in the consumer electronics and technology
licensing business for over 15 years, both domestically and internationally. He
co-founded Global TechLink, a global technology consultancy company
specializing in multi-media, communication and application technology. From
1994 to 2000 Mr. Duncan worked as Vice President Consumer Electronics for
Gemstar TV Guide International, where he reported directly to Mr. Henry Yuen,
the Chairman and CEO. At Gemstar his responsibilities included product
development, licensing and marketing a portfolio of multimedia licensed
features including the highly successful VCRPlus+ and Electronic Program Guide
- TVGuidePlus+. Mr. Duncan was recruited to Gemstar from Thomson Multimedia,
where he worked in Germany, France and his native U.K. in various Pan-European
marketing and global product development roles.
Brian L. Klosterman
Brian L. Klosterman has over 25 years of experience in electronics, interactive
television and technology businesses. He is currently chief executive officer
of REVA Ventures, Inc., a technology business consulting company. He served as
president and chief operating officer of the publicly traded company StarSight
Telecast, Inc. (SGHT) from 1993 to 2000. During his 7-year tenure at
StarSight/Gemstar, Klosterman was granted 10 patents in the interactive
television and electronic program guide field. Gemstar Development Corporation
acquired the company in May of 1997. Klosterman was appointed to the Gemstar
board of directors and continued as president of StarSight. He was also
responsible for Gemstar’s overall consumer electronics licensing business.
Prior to joining StarSight Telecast, he was senior vice president of the Sony
Consumer Television Products Co. Prior to his post at Sony, Klosterman held
senior marketing and product management positions with Thomson Consumer
Electronics (RCA Corporation & General Electric Consumer Electronics) at
their corporate headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana. Klosterman’s background
also includes broad experience in consumer electronics retail and wholesale
distribution.
Scott McKinley
Scott McKinley is the President and CEO of Northface University, a
post-secondary learning institution for software developers. Mr. McKinley has
nearly 20 years of private & public equity and strategic consulting
experience gained through broad global experience at leading institutions.
Prior to founding Northface University, he was the founder and Managing
Director of Chase Capital Partners (now JP Morgan Partners) in Asia, the
private equity investment arm of JP Morgan Chase Bank. Mr. McKinley has lived
and worked extensively in both Europe and Asia, first as a strategy consultant
in London with Cap Gemini, and then as a Vice President in merchant banking
with Bankers Trust Company. He has served on the boards and advisory boards of
numerous private and public companies, as well as private equity funds.
Michael Medved
Michael Medved is a film critic, best-selling author and nationally syndicated
radio talk show host. His daily three-hour program, emphasizing the
intersection of politics and pop culture, reaches more than 1.8 million
listeners in 140 markets, coast to coast. Mr. Medved has been a frequent guest
on all the major TV talk shows, including Larry King Live, Nightline, Oprah,
David Letterman, Good Morning America and countless others. His columns on
media and society appear regularly in USA Today, where he serves as a member of
the Board of Contributors. The Medveds live in the Seattle area with their
three children.
Gerald Molen
Jerry Molen has amassed an incredible list of film credits, including Producer
of Jurassic Park, The Lost World, and Hook, and Executive Producer of Twister,
Casper, Little Rascals, The Flintstones, Days of Thunder, and Co-Producer of
Rain Man. Jerry has worked with numerous Hollywood directors of note, including
Hal Ashby, Sydney Pollack and Steven Spielberg. A pinnacle moment in Jerry's
career came during the 66th Academy Awards, where Schindler's List won the
Oscar for best motion picture of 1993. He graciously received the coveted gold
statuette, honoring his wife for her influence.
Nelson Skip Riddle
Nelson Skip Riddle founded Riddle International in 1990. His mission: Build
outstanding professionals and teams which will help companies develop their
business in overseas markets through precisely targeted marketing and
communications strategies to customers and employees.
Skip’s experience spans over 25 years developing successful brands and
businesses in the automotive, financial services, electronics, entertainment,
packaged goods, retailing and telecommunications industries. Following his
academic career at the University of Southern California, Skip entered the
communications industry with the Interpublic Group. Subsequently, with Dancer
Fitzgerald Sample (now Saatchi & Saatchi), he served in marketing and
managing director capacities, and built dynamic, lucrative communications
ventures in the US, Japan and Australia.
Jim Taylor
Jim Taylor was recently named one of the 21 most influential executives of the
DVD industry by DVD Report and Tape Disc Business, and was awarded the 2000 DVD
Pro Discus Award for Outstanding Contribution to the DVD Industry. From 1998 to
mid 2000 Jim was on contract to Microsoft as DVD Evangelist. Currently Jim is
Chief Technology Officer for Sonic Solutions. Jim serves as President of the
DVD association, maintains the popular DVD FAQ and has written the book DVD
Demystified, published by McGraw-Hill. He has written for magazines and
newsletters such as Widescreen Review, and DV Report. Other publications Jim
has written for include Proceedings of the IEEE, SMPTE, and Funk & Wagnalls
Multimedia Encyclopedia. Jim has taught seminars and given presentations on DVD
technology at various conferences including DVD Pro, DVD Production, DVD
Summit, and New Media.
