The war with the machines rages on in this latest addition to the Terminator franchise. The failing resistance fights to survive against a superior enemy while the machines hatch a new devious plan to kill their ultimate nemesis, John Connor. Will a new discovery help the ragtag band fighters finally reclaim the world from its metallic masters, or will the new line of ruthless terminators finally wipe humanity from the earth?
The ClearPlay Factor
Terminator Salvation is rated PG-13 for language and violence. ClearPlaying the film will remove around five S-words plus several other minor obscenities, and soften the film’s violent edge. Terminator Salvation is mostly filled with bloodless explosions and blasting away at robotic enemies, though there is an impaling, some brutal fisticuffs, and minor gunfire wounds. Some robots are covered with skin and will reveal mechanical innards when damaged, which may upset some viewers. This film has intense scenes with scary-looking robots and is not for children.
Should I Join the Resistance?…
Terminator Salvation has all the cool action scenes, thumping explosions, and creepy robots you could want. What the film lacks is warmth. While earlier Terminator films put robots in a human world to good effect, humans in the world of robots falls strangely flat, mainly due to rather robotic performances from the two lead characters. Terminator Salvation lacks the flair of Terminator 2, the best of the series, but it is still an entertaining action film and a good fit with earlier efforts.
