Crimson Tide
Russian separatists seize a nuclear missile base and threaten to attack the United States. A U.S. nuclear missile submarine, the Alabama, is dispatched as a show of force. Veteran Captain Jack Ramsey and new guy Lieutenant Commander Ron Hunter clash when incomplete orders come to the submarine. The Captain believes they should launch a nuclear strike, while Lieutenant Hunter refuses to go along without further confirmation. Mutiny and intrigue erupt as time ticks down, the fate of the world in the balance.
ClearPlay In Action!
Crimson Tide has bad language and some sexual dialog among sailors that is trimmed. None of it will be missed. There are very few other trims to be made. With filters, this movie would be appropriate for teens and up.
Should I Roll with the Tide?…
I noticed this older film on the ClearPlay streaming list and decided to give it and the new streaming service a go. The movie is an entertaining thriller with some similarities to The Hunt for Red October. Denzel Washington and Gene Hackman are the leads and really bring a great screen presence. The stakes and the tension are high, and lovers of submarine movies will definitely want to give it a go. It’s all the more enjoyable with ClearPlay removing the salty sailor language.
The new streaming service worked flawlessly and was a piece of cake to use. Just above the big billboard of ClearPlay movies there is a View Streaming Movies link that shows what is available. From there, it’s literally as easy as one, two, three. Adjusting filters is a snap using a mouse, and the playback was smooth. Nice work, ClearPlay!
