Yes Man
Carl’s life is filled with work, sitting at home watching movies and avoiding…well, everyone. But when he attends a seminar about saying “Yes” to life, he’s pressured into making a covenant that he will only say “Yes” to things from now on. As it turns out, Yes is just what Carl needed.
ClearPlay in Action!
Got Jim Carrey? Don’t worry, there’s a filter for that! Yes Man is true Jim Carrey fun with all that goes with it. ClearPlay filters out quite a lot of language (including the F-word and several sexually crass language and discussions), a really disturbing sexual scene and some nudity. With Medium filters you’ll still want to know that there are some bar scenes and one scene of heavy drinking which leads to a ridiculously, comical fist fight in the alley and Carl waking up next to the toilet. There are some tame but lengthy kisses and discussions of living with one another before marriage. One scene has a nurse checking Carl’s pulse and her shirt hangs open a little bit and then you see Carl’s friend staring at her. While her shirt does hang open it’s real shadowy so you can’t see anything. I think you could enjoy this one with your teens 17 and up.
Will You Give Yes Man the Affirmative Thumbs Up?...
I’m not one much for pointless comedies and I’m only slightly embarrassed to say that Jim Carrey stars in my two favorites. Yes Man is laugh out loud silly and with filters it is fairly clean with a decent underlying message. The character Norman works as such a delightful side kick to Carrey that every scene with him in it had me chuckling up a storm (particularly when one of those scenes leads to Carrey taping up his own face). So if you like Jim Carrey’s doofy physical humor and flexible facial animation with that sprinkle of good message, then rent this one the next time you need a good pick-me-up.
