The Patriot
Benjamin Martin wants to safeguard his family but the American Revolution is escalating, dredging up ghosts from the past and pushing him into a war he is reluctant to participate in.
ClearPlay in Action!
The language is mild but the violence is graphic at times with the ruthless tactics of war. Men, women and children face death while the battle for America is fought. Many sad moments around losses of loved ones but the burning desire for freedom pushes the men on. Violence is where you will want to set your filters according to your tolerance of bloodshed but even with most filtering you will still see your fair share of brutality. My recommendation is for older teens and up.
Oh say should you see?....
One could say this is reminiscent of Braveheart, and that is a good thing since both are worth taking your time to watch. The fight to get and maintain freedom isn’t pretty as showcased in The Patriot, Benjamin fights in the war for revenge sparked by injustices. The sacrifices and emotions are real and magnified in the interactions of fathers, sons, brothers etc. fighting beside one another.
