Moon
Sam Bell is two weeks away from ending his three year solitary stint watching over robotic helium three harvesters on the moon. He’s lonely. He’s talking to himself. He’s anxious to get home to his wife and child. After crashing his moon truck into a harvester, he awakens in the infirmary and goes back to investigate the accident. What he discovers changes how he sees himself and the company he works for, and not for the better.
The ClearPlay Factor
This movie is a classic example of why ClearPlay exists. Moon is rated R, primarily for language. ClearPlay removes around 50 F words and a handful of other profanities. Also ClearPlayed are Sam Bell’s bare buttocks and a scene of sensuality. None of these excisions hurt the film, which easily could have been PG and had the same impact.
Should I Set My Sights On The Moon?…
Hop in your shuttle and rocket on over to this distant lunar facility. While not a sci-fi action or horror flick that will get your pulse pounding, Moon has an intriguing story helped along by wonderfully realized lunar landscape and base and a solid performance by Sam Rockwell. It feels like an extended Twilight Zone episode (in a good way). It had a limited theatrical release but will be enjoyable to anyone who likes a little sci-fi mystery.
