The Losers

Operatives of a specialized CIA team hit a snag during a mission in Bolivia, risk their lives to save children, and are double-crossed by their mysterious, unseen commander Max (Jason Patric). Left for dead, the “losers” decide to use their strength, cunning and moxie to get revenge on Max and reclaim their lives. The problem: They don’t know who or where Max is.

The ClearPlay Factor

A little more than 60 instances of language are cut from the ClearPlayed version of The Losers. Scenes of sensuality and intercourse are also cut. While the violence is trimmed, The Losers is still a movie about violence and violent acts. Lots of fighting and gunplay remain intact, though their bloody aftermath is removed. Perhaps most shocking, about 25 kids are killed. Although their bodies are never shown, the thought of it – as well as the rest of the violence – make this movie inappropriate for sensitive viewers.

Will I be a winner for seeing The Losers?…

Based on a graphic novel, The Losers is a surprisingly watchable movie. The campy characters, funny one-liners, and an over-the-top Jason Patric let us know the movie never takes itself too seriously. Sure, the action scenes are ridiculous, but it’s comic-book fun. Avatar’s Zoe Saldana provides a love interest, as well as an addition to the revenge factor.
