  • The Expendables

A high-octane group of mercenaries led by Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) is hired by Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) to take out a despot on a South American island. Ross and sidekick Lee Christmas (Jason Stratham) investigate the island first, and find a web of military force, American funding, drugs, and the general’s daughter who helps Ross and Christmas so her island can be peaceful once again. Will Barney Ross return with his crew and save the island from its evil influences? Odds are yes, with Barney leaving rubble in his wake.

    ClearPlay In Action!

The Expendables is surprisingly low on bad language, with ClearPlay catching about 40 bits of profanity, a fraction of what is typically present in this type of movie. But The Expendables makes up for it in over–the–top bloody violence. ClearPlay edits dozens of scenes of spewing blood, exploding bodies, fiery deaths … just about every way a human body can die. Even edited, the movie is mainly for viewers who aren’t bothered by action violence.

    Is Stallone’s film Expendable?…

Stallone directed, co–wrote and stars in The Expendables, whose star power alone makes it a jacked-up joyride for action fans. Stallone, Statham and Willis are joined by Jet Li, Mickey Rourke and a cast of familiar faces that stew in the steaming cauldron of testosterone. The mostly mindless violence is accompanied by the usual quips and levity that any indestructible action hero would share as hundreds of villains are slaughtered.

Rated R for strong action and bloody violence throughout, and for some language; 103 min; Directed By Sylvester Stallone
