Welcome to The Adjustment Bureau, a super secret organization that controls our lives behind the scenes, ensuring that history goes according to “plan.” Even mundane things like falling in love seem to be the Bureau’s business if you’re important enough to matter.

Like The Adjustment Bureau itself, ClearPlay works behind the scenes, cutting a scene of lovemaking, a bit of blood in the aftermath of a car wreck, and a little more than 40 instances of language. Kids might get frightened about the idea of people controlling our actions, but ClearPlayed, the movie is appropriate for most audiences.

Based on a story by Philip K. Dick, The Adjustment Bureau asks the question of whether or not our lives are based on destiny or if we have free will, much like The Truman Show did. There’s something very fun about following Norris on his quest to give life meaning, especially when he’s often running from guys in retro hats. If you try to make strict sense of the action, there are no doubt plot holes aplenty. But go along for the ride and it’s one of the most endearing thrillers/love stories to come along in awhile.
