Snow White and the Hunstman

Snow White and the Huntsman is Hollywood’s second reimagining of the classic tale this year. In this darker adaptation, the lovely Snow White is imprisoned by the evil Queen who murdered the King and ruined the kingdom. Snow White escapes, and the Queen orders the Huntsman to recover her. When he refuses to kill her, the hunt is on as Snow White discovers she has a duty and a destiny to save the kingdom.

ClearPlay In Action!

Snow White and the Huntsman is disturbing and violent in a number of critical spots. With filters on full, expect some gaps. There is very little language in the film for ClearPlay to clean up and only a couple of minor edits for sensuality. With filters, this is still a tale for older teens and adults.

Is this the Fairest of Them All?…

This is Snow White in nightmare mode. The director deserves a lot of credit for creating some stunning and memorable images and environments. The dark tone and twists in the Snow White story make this movie worth the watch. No, Kristen Stewart of Twilight infamy was not a fantastic choice for Snow White. No, we don’t care about the characters as much as we should. But compared to the dull (but more family friendly) Mirror, Mirror, Snow White and the Huntsman is a tense, edgy ride. And remember, it may have Snow White in the title, but this film is not for kids.
