  • The Dark Knight Rises

Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy comes to its conclusion in The Dark Knight Rises. Batman has retired as Gotham enters a period of peace and prosperity. But the peace won’t last. A brutal terrorist named Bane rises to finish what Ra’s Al Ghul started in Batman Begins: destroy Gotham City. Batman must don the cowl again as Bane pushes him and Gotham to the brink of annihilation.

    ClearPlay In Action!

The Dark Knight Rises has shootings and beatings and the occasional neck snap. Expect some skips and jumps during the fight scenes. Clearplay mutes about 15 instances of language, mostly of the mild variety. There is also some brief sensuality that is trimmed. This is an intense show on par with the others, but not as creepy, perhaps, as the Joker in the excellent The Dark Knight. Not a show for younger kids.

Should I Rise and Get this film?…

Christopher Nolan delivers a satisfying finale to his excellent Batman movies. The Dark Knight Rises is epic in scope and excellent visually and thematically. When I heard Anne Hathaway was playing the Catwoman, I was worried, but she was one of the best parts of the film. While The Dark Knight still stands as the best of the three films, The Dark Knight Rises won’t disappoint the fans, even if it seems a bit overlong. Nolan says there will be no more Batman films from him, so this is a sad farewell.
