Looper
Joe is a Looper. Loopers are assassins that kill people from the future sent back to the past by the mob. They are paid well and live the party lifestyle, but they know one day their loop will be closed: they must kill their future selves. When Joe’s future self goes on a rampage in the present to stop a murder in the future, Joe finds himself in the odd position of trying to kill his future self before the mob kills them both.
ClearPlay In Action!
ClearPlay has plenty of work to do in Looper, including trimming a scene of implied sex, cutting a scene with two topless women, and muting nearly 100 instances of language. There is plenty of violence and disturbing images to deal with, too, and with filters on full there will be some gaps. The story deals with mature subject matter and filtered might be appropriate for older teens.
Should I be in the Looper Loop?...
Looper is a sci-fi time travel flick with an underlying story that is more rich and complex than the standard fare in the genre. There are a lot of clever touches and gripping moments in Looper, but it’s not an action flick at its core. Prepare for some real drama and some moral conundrums that are uncomfortable. While the violent, disturbing nature of the film may turn some off (even with ClearPlay), for sci-fi fans this is a must see.
