Zero Dark Thirty
Following 911, an expensive and dangerous manhunt for Osama Bin Laden dragged on for years. Zero Dark Thirty is the story of the people and politics behind that hunt, dramatizing the brutal interrogations, unending research, and finally the climactic raid on the compound in Pakistan that killed the most wanted terrorist in American history.
ClearPlay In Action!
Zero Dark Thirty portrays torture, acts of terror, and the raid on the Bin Laden compound. If you watch the film using full violence filters, you will experience gaps where the action gets bloody and disturbing. There are plenty of ‘F’ and ‘S’ words to mute, as well. Filters or no, this gritty portrayal of some of the real horrors in life is best suited for adults.
Should I Join the Hunt for Bin Laden?…
I found Zero Dark Thirty a fascinating look into the actual work that goes into the headlines we see in the news. This is not an action film at its core, but an extended investigation punctuated by a lot of tense moments. The film does raise a number of controversial moral and ethical questions about the methods and amount of money that go into these operations, and you may find yourself squirming in your seat from time to time. Well acted and riveting, Zero Dark Thirty is a thought provoking glimpse into an important piece of U.S. history, but you may need to play with your filter settings to find a comfortable spot.
