ClearPlay In Action!
Directed by Quentin Tarantino, Django Unchained is a violent excursion through the Old South, laced with profanity and racial epithets. ClearPlay cleans up about 250 instances of language, including nearly 30 F-words and almost 100 N-words. There are scenes of brutality that are also trimmed, including blood-soaked gunshots, a graphic fistfight, a man being torn apart by dogs, and other Tarantino mayhem. ClearPlay cuts some images of nudity as well. The remaining movie is fit for those adults with a strong constitution.
Were Django’s Oscar nominations djustified or is the movie djust okay?...
Tarantino loves the spoken word. Unfortunately, ClearPlay is forced to cut many of them. Still, for those who can tolerate a stark tale that is still filled with trademark humor and surprising exchanges, Django Unchained stands among some of Tarantino’s best. Interesting characters and exuberant filmmaking make Django liberating.
