Jack Reacher
Five seemingly innocent people are murdered at random by a mysterious sniper. The suspect arrested for the crime has one request: “Get me Jack Reacher.” Reacher (Tom Cruise) had once arrested the suspect in the military for the same crime. The new case seems to be a slam dunk until some digging, logic and strange goings–on convince Reacher that all is not as it appears.
ClearPlay In Action!
The violence in Jack Reacher is disturbing because many of the perpetrators are cold–blooded and lack remorse. Even though ClearPlay edits about 50 instances of language, some scenes of sensuality, and graphic scenes of shooting and fighting, the idea of random shootings, particularly in today’s world, is enough to make the movie appropriate for older audiences.
Will I enjoy this movie if I don’t know Jack?…
Jack Reacher is a surprisingly effective mystery/thriller, and it’s a pleasure to watch Cruise milk the role for all its macho charm. Stylish, intelligent, with a sense of humor. Oh, sure, it stretches credibility. That’s half the fun.
