  • The Incredible Burt Wonderstone

Burt must regain his love for magic and mend fences so he can have one more shot at magical glory.

    ClearPlay In Action!

ClearPlay skips two sexual scenes as well as several instances of sexual talk. You won’t miss them. Also ClearPlayed are around thirty instances of language, including an F word and a host of S words, leading to a couple of spots with long mutes. A couple of the edgy magician’s disturbing tricks are edited and may leave you wondering what happened. Overall, however, the movie ClearPlays well and if filtered would be appropriate for teens and up.

    Is Burt Wonderstone Really Incredible?...

With Steve Buscemi, Steve Carell, and Jim Carrey as the leads in the film, one would expect a rollicking laugh-fest. It doesn’t happen. There are funny moments and situations, but the comedy, drama, and script are far from magical. ClearPlay does a great job rescuing the film from its raunchy parts, but it can’t save it from its own mediocrity. If you feel like a good film about duelling magicians, try the deadly serious but quality film The Prestige.

Brian Fuller - ClearPlay Magic Man

Rated PG-13 for sexual content, dangerous stunts, a drug-related incident and language; 100 min; Directed by Don Scardino
