G.I. Joe: Retaliation
The elite G.I. Joe team of soldiers is framed for the murder of the Pakistani President and declared rogue. The impostor President of the United States orders the Joes wiped out, only a handful surviving. But when Cobra Commander implements his evil plans for global domination, the hunted Joes must pull together and save the world before it’s too late.
ClearPlay In Action!
There are about 25 instances of language to clean up, a couple scenes of immodesty to trim, and a number of violent takedowns to skip. The movie edits well, and you will have no problem following the plot -- such as it is. With filters, G.I. Joe would be appropriate for teens.
Should I Join the Joes?
G.I. Joe: Retaliation is a clunky mess of a movie. Thankfully, ClearPlay manages to take out the stuff that might worry parents whose young teen boys are the target audience. On the whole, the film is likely too juvenile for many adults to enjoy. Hollywood has put out a lot of movies that require viewers to shut off their brains, but for G.I. Joe: Retaliation it’s best not to bring one at all. The end gambit in particular is so ridiculous that I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to laugh or not. That said, with ClearPlay, your young teenage boys may safely enjoy the testosterone boost that comes from guns, swords and explosions.
