White House Down
A vast conspiracy against the U.S. government turns the White House into a war zone. The President is hunted and on the run, armed mercenaries taking hostages and shooting any who oppose them. As time ticks down to global disaster, a Capitol policeman trapped inside the White House with his daughter fights back in a daring attempt to rescue the President and thwart the plans of the intruders.
ClearPlay In Action!
There are plenty of swear words to mute here, including around 25 S words, an F word, and about 25 religious exclamations. So, yes, ClearPlay comes in handy, but the critical dialogue is still easy to follow. There are a lot of bullets flying and some fist fights. Most of it is bloodless, but there are some skips here and there when it gets brutal. Filtered, the movie would be appropriate for older teens, but it is too intense for the younger crowd.
What’s Up with White House Down?...
This is an entertaining popcorn muncher that is a cross between Air Force One and Die Hard. The first thirty minutes or so sail by in fairly tame fashion, but after that the action ratchets up and doesn’t stop. Yes, you will need to put up with some cheese and corn and over the top illogical ridiculousness, but if you’re looking for something to make it feel like it’s summertime at the movies, White House Down should fit the bill. Also available on ClearPlay, Olympus Has Fallen, another movie about severe problems at the White House.
