ClearPlay In Action!
Ronin is PG-13, mostly for violence, some beheadings in particular. Some of the cuts around one of the headings (where the head is paraded around) will cause a large gap. There isn’t really language to edit. ClearPlayed, this movie is appropriate for teens and up.
Should I Join the 47 Ronin?...
There are some good things to be said about 47 Ronin. It is (loosely) based on an event in Japanese history and it does have some beautiful visuals. The main problem is the somber, gloomy tone to the whole thing. The movie would have been better if one of the characters could have acted happy for two seconds. It has action. It has witchcraft. It has star crossed love. It is just oppressively dour. Those that love samurai and katanas will still want to give it a go.
