The Other Woman
High-powered lawyer Carly (Cameron Diaz) thinks she may be dating a very special man (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) – maybe too special, as she finds out he’s not only married, but has other girlfriends on the side. She befriends the wife (Leslie Mann), and together they team up with one of the other girlfriends (Kate Upton) to wreak havoc on the cheater’s life.
ClearPlay In Action!
The Other Woman is about a cheating husband, so there’s only so much ClearPlay can do. It doesn’t help that the movie dwells on low-grade humor for many of its laughs. A very bloody nose, a defecating dog, a bout of diarrhea, a flimsy swimsuit, a man’s enlarged nipples, and lots of implied sex and suggestive discussions are some of ClearPlay’s targets, as well as about 80 instances of language. It’s still about infidelity, so reserve the movie for older teens and above.
Should I keep The Other Woman or search for something better?...
There are some nice moments in The Other Woman, and Leslie Mann has good comedicbits. The premise is solid – women banding together based on their shared betrayal -- but the movie spends too much time cashing in on the lowest common denominator rather than deliveringon its comic potential.
