ClearPlay In Action!
The PG- rated Earth to Echo was designed for families, but ClearPlay cleans up about 25 instances of mild profanity and religious exclamations. The kids in the movie deceive their parents and put themselves in some dangerous situations, so if you’re worried about imitative behavior, tread with caution. Otherwise, the movie has a positive message about the power of friendship and the ability of each individual to make a difference, no matter how young they are.
Is the Echo I’m hearing coming from a familiar sound?...
Earth to Echo feels like about 10 other movies: E.T., *batteries not included, The Goonies, Super 8, WALL--E and every film shot in “found footage” style a la Blair Witch project, Cloverfield, and Chronicle. Though the performances aren’t particularly strong, there exists a nice feeling of camaraderie among the characters, and there are some genuinely suspenseful moments. The result is an intriguing if derivative science fiction ride.
