    Kingsman: The Secret Service

A super secret and well-dressed British spy organization recruits Eggsy, a troubled youth, to enter its selective and competitive training program. While Eggsy competes for a spot on the team, a devious tech CEO creates a device that can turn average people into raging, homicidal maniacs. When the plan comes to light, the Kingsmen leap into action, but will Eggsy have what it takes to don the suit and take up the mantle of a Kingsman?

    ClearPlay In Action!

There’s lots for ClearPlay to do in this rated R offering. There are over 80 instances of the F word, and a host of other swear words, hand gestures, crude remarks, and religious exclamations. A couple of sexually oriented scenes with rear nudity are also cut. All of these filter well. Violence filtering on full, however, will create some gaps in a few crucial scenes (one in particular). There are head shots, impalings, stabbings, and a lot of dismemberings (due to the nature of one of the villains). With ClearPlay, the movie seems much more tame than it really is.

Do I Have What it Takes to be a Kingsman?

This movie, like the Kingsmen themselves, is all about style. From the tailored suits to the hyper-choreographed violence, everything looks good and has flair. Adding a distinguished air to the proceedings is list of venerable actors, including Colin Firth, Samuel Jackson, and Michael Caine. While entertaining, I still found Kingsman: The Secret Service in need of a bit more substance in the plot and character departments. ClearPlay thankfully cleans up this film’s garbage and makes it watchable at all, and the flashy style may be enough for most viewers.

Rated R for sequences of strong violence, language and some sexual content; 129 mins; Directed by Matthew Vaughn
