What Lies Beneath
Claire Spencer (Michelle Pfeiffer) is an empty nester and her husband works long hours, leaving her alone most of the time in her newly renovated home. Mysterious things begin to happen that lead her to think it is haunted…or that she is crazy.
ClearPlay in Action!
ClearPlay does a great job tidying up language, blasphemy and intimate scenes. Provocative clothing is not an issue throughout the movie, but in a couple of scenes cleavage and excess amounts of leg are shown. Social drinking and discussions of adultery are laced throughout the movie. And don’t forget there will be suspenseful moments (even though I jump, I love them)! With your ClearPlay set to most filtering, ages 15 and up are okay.
Does What Lies Beneath stand a ghost of a chance?...
I saw this when it came out a decade or so ago and loved it. I love a good suspense thriller and this is similar to movies like The Sixth Sense or The Others. The problem I had was, since I had seen it I started to remember what happened which takes away from the suspense a bit. If you have never seen this then I say watch it! If you have, it is still good but loses some of its shock value the 2nd time around.
