Survivor
Kate Abbott (Milla Jovovich) issues visas and is good at her job. When asuspicious man comes through immigration, Kate has reservations of letting him through, causing a chain of events that almost immediately leads to a hit being put out on her. When sheer luck keeps her from dying in the initial attempt, she must elude the hit man (Pierce Brosnan), while clearing her name and getting to the bottom of the mystery.
ClearPlay In Action!
A small bit of language is cut from Survivor, most of it harsh. The PG-13 thriller is filled with mayhem: explosions, shootings, stabbings. Some moments are trimmed by ClearPlay, but the body count is still high. Though a good deal of it is bloodless, the violence-for-hire feels brutal and heartless, making it a tough haul for younger viewers.
Should ‘Survivor’ be voted off my playlist?...
Critics mostly hated Survivor, but it’s not a bad chase film. Imagine Three Daysof the Condor, without 90% of the suspense. Jovovich is fine as a clever person in distress, and Brosnan makes a good, creepy (though rather inept) hit man. Survivor might be ultimately forgettable, but it’s an okay potboiler while you’re watching it.
