We have released the Extended edition filters on Blu-ray and DVD, however if you have the Extended edition on Blu-ray it will only filter the Extended edition of the movie not theatrical. Theatrical Blu-ray disc will filter like before.

The Martian

When a mission on Mars is cut short due to an intense storm, Astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is struck by debris and presumed dead. As the rest of the crew embarks on the return journey to Earth, Watney must try to survive on the inhospitable planet and somehow get the message back home that he’s still alive. Low on rations, Watney uses the breadth of his knowledge and skills to make his supplies last while those on Earth try to launch a rescue attempt.

About 35 profanities would’ve been enough to earn The Martian its PG-13 rating, but there’s more content ClearPlay trims: some graphic injuries, partial nudity, and business involving human waste. The ClearPlayed version is a crowd-pleaser for all ages. Some suspenseful moments may be too nerve-wracking for sensitive viewers, but its message about the indomitable human spirit is positive and rewarding.

Although there’s a lot of tragedy that befalls our hero, he’s so upbeat and witty that someof The Martian plays like comedy. It’s not often that a movie with such dire consequences can alsomake you laugh, but The Martian is, yes...out of this world.
