Eye in the Sky
Starring Helen Mirren, Aaron Paul and Alan Rickman in his final live-action role, Eye in the Sky tells the story of military personnel spread across the globe who are tracking a group of terrorists in Nairobi, Kenya. When the situation escalates, the multinational team must decide whether or not to use a drone strike to take the terrorists out, when it could cost the lives of some nearby civilians.
ClearPlay In Action!
This film is relatively tame for a rated R movie, so even with the filters on you will still see and hear most of the story. The bulk of this movie is spent with the threat of violence instead of actual violence. However, when violence occurs, it is disturbing, even though it isn’t graphic. There is also some strong language, including around five F-words.
So Do We Have Clearance to Enjoy This Movie?...
Eye in the Sky is a frustrating movie because you see how much red tape can be involved with a military action. It is all focused on one event, almost in real time, so the characters spend a lot of time dragging their feet. However, it is suspenseful. I found myself getting caught up in the plot a number of times. I may forget about this film, but I don’t regret watching it.
