Family Movie Night Activity: Angels In The Outfield
Angels in the outfield? “It could happen!”
When Roger’s Dad says they’ll be a family again when “the Angels win the Pennant” Roger knows it’s going to take a miracle! Roger prays for the lowest ranked baseball team in the league to win and real angels show up to help them get the job done. Roger tries to tell the Team Manager why the team is suddenly doing so much better but that’s hard to do since Roger is the only one that can actually see the angels. Roger ends up helping the team do more than win a few games; he helps them believe in each other. Enjoy this movie about American’s Favorite Past-Time with another popular past-time… a Family Movie Night Activity with ClearPlay!
Movie Snacks:
*The Angels baseball team has quite the spread of food to enjoy in the locker room. You could have similar snacks for your movie watchers to enjoy. Be sure to have some of the following foods: Salami, chicken wings, doughnuts, and candy.
*After one of the players has an angel help him on the field he says he felt something different but wonders if it‘s because of the chili dogs he ate before the game. You too could have chili dogs before your movie night to see what he was feeling like!
*Maggie serves the kids a chicken dinner with Jell-o for dessert. You could have a matching dinner if you want to eat like Roger, J.P., and Miguel.
*At the game, David gets the kids every snack they could want. They have popcorn, peanuts, nachos, soda and more. Serve up some baseball game concessions for your movie night, just be careful where you put your nachos… you don’t want to “save them for later” like David does, when he accidentally sits on them!
Must Pause Moments:
*When Roger wins a chance to get pictures with Mr. Knox, manager of The Angels, they turn out looking like “prison photos.” Take your own “Prison Photos” by seeing who can copy the solemn faces of Roger and Mr. Knox the best. Remember to print out the pictures and sign them!
*Mr. Knox asks Roger to have a signal in case there are angels playing with his team. He waves his arms like a bird whenever he sees them. Each time you see an angel in the movie, stand up and wave your arms along with Roger or make up your own sign to show that you’re seeing angels on the tv screen!
*Al the Angel and all the baseball fans sing “Take Me Out To The Ballgame.” Sing along with the classic tune or teach your children the words so they can sing along whenever they go to a baseball game or watch another baseball movie.
Other Activities:
*This movie is all about showing support for your team. Be sure to wear your favorite team apparel, whether it’s a professional baseball team, a football, soccer or hockey team, or even your local high school team! Show your team spirit at Movie Night!
*After watching this movie you’ll probably want to head outside and play a game of backyard baseball. If you decide to play with the neighbor kids, or just in case your own kids don’t know, be sure to explain what it means to “run home” so you don’t lose your players when you cheer them on!
*This Movie Night would be a great way to announce to your family that you’re going to a baseball game! Pull out the calendar and see what games are coming up soon in your area, gather up the gang, and go cheer on your own “Angels.” Remember to enjoy some nachos for me!
