Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi
No longer reeling from the shocking revelation at the end of The Empire Strikes Back, Luke (Mark Hamill) attempts to free his friends and fellow Rebels from the clutches of Jabba the Hutt. The bad news: The Empire has constructed another Death Star, which is soon to be fully operational. Action set pieces include a dazzling chase through a forest, and a climactic battle featuring creatures that look like cuddly lhasa apsos.
ClearPlay In Action!
Sci-fi violence abounds in Return of the Jedi. Also, there are some revealing costumes worn by two women. Though the violence is mostly bloodless, there are many images of mayhem that ClearPlay trims, including dismemberment, electrocution, strangulation, and confrontations with scary aliens. Though some elements of the movie are certainly geared toward children, the war scenes, monsters, and deaths of main characters make it more appropriate for teens and above.
With Vader at full strength, is this the Endor of our heroes?...
With a heavy message of redemption, Jedi provides a satisfying (temporary) conclusion to the saga. Satisfying, that is, if you can answer this question: How do you feel about Ewoks? Love‘em or hate ‘em, their polarizing presence is indicative of mighty marketing: May that Force be with you.
